Monday July 13th we had to say goodbye to two wonderful people in Jay's life. Miss. Mayra and Mrs. Anna from ACES. ACES is the school Jay has been going to so far. After his birthday he will go to school with the big kids. He is now going to Wood Canyon Elementary Preschool!!! He will love it!

Anna was Jay's Supervisor. She was in charge of deciding which programs to work on with Jay. She did such a great job. We will really miss her!

And then there is Miss. Mayra. She has been working with Jay 3 days a week since January. We started crying about a week before she even actually left. She has made such an imprint on Jay's life. She has taught him so many skills that he will take with him to his new "big boy school" Even as I type this tears begin to fall. She has become family to us. It is so hard to think that she will not be around anymore. Everyday when she would pull up, Jay would run out to greet her. He is to young to understand why she isn't here anymore. It hasn't even been a full week and we already miss her more than words can say. We love you Miss. Mayra!!!!!

I will finish this post soon. I am too emotional to do it now. :) I am a baby I know!

Arendall and I decided we needed to get out of town for a bit. So we invited our friends Matt and Val to go on a trip to Phoenix. We spent the whole week relaxing by the pool. It was a lot of fun.

One of our favorite places of all time to eat breakfast is Cracker Barrel. Since we do not have any in California, we ALWAYS make sure to hit it up when we travel. I love all the rocking chairs in the front.

Some one pulled the fire alarm while we were there and we all had to evacuate the building. We went back in about 20 minutes later. It was a lot of fun. Jay especially had a blast!

Here is a flash back. Jay in his first swim lessons. As soon as Jay switches preschools in July, Lily and I will turn into little fishies!!!

I remember this day because I didn't even get in the water. I was babysitting Garrett when he was just days old. Melissa had to go to the doctor, so I asked my good friend Michelle if she would take Jay.

Jay and Lily LOVE it when Makayla comes over to play. The three of them have so much fun together. Lily is obsessed with MaKayla's mommy Tameka. She crawls around the house saying "Meka.... Meka" She is getting so big.
She now has 6 words in her vocabulary that she uses appropriately.

Jay is getting big too! Can you believe he is 2 1/2. Where has all this time gone. He is so smart. He loves to play with puzzles, color, and is in love with Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends. He has a train in his hand 24/7.

We took a day trip to Lynchburg, Tennessee. Home of the Jack Daniels Distillery. It was a really cool walking tour. The only down fall was we couldn't take our stroller. We had to carry the kids for over an hour. Even with that it was still worth the trip!

Look how pretty the grounds are. I can only imagine how gorgeous it would look in the spring!

You know if there is water around, that's where Jay is!! Here he is checking out the stream.

We took a day trip to Kentucky to go visit some of the famous caves. These pictures are from an underground lake. We took a boat ride through the cave. It was fun.

Check out how low the top of the caves are. We had to bend completley over while sitting in the boat just to avoid hitting our head!

Jay loved all the little rocks in the gift shop. Daddy spoiled him and bought him his own bag.

Can you believe sweet Lily is 1/2 a year old. Holy Cow!!!! It has gone by too fast. Knowing she is going to be our last child, it is bitter sweet to watch her grow. I do not want another baby, just want her to stay small forever. Life doesn't happen that way. Here are some cute pictures we took of her at the beach on her 1/2 birthday.

We love her so much and feel so blessed to have her in our lives. She truly is our little princess.

Disneyland

On Friday I decided to get a babysitter for Lily so Jay and I could go to Disneyland. This was the first time he had been on any rides. He loved it! We went on the monterail, alice in wonderland, dumbo, the carousel, pirates of the carribean, the train, and even drove the cars. He made it for 5 whole hours. His new friend MaKayla joined us with her mommy. They had a great time!

Jay did not like the fact he had to be strapped on to the horse, but liked it once the ride started moving.

Since Jay and MaKayla were so good we got them each an ice cream cone. It's nice to be able to spoil them.

Jay took a short break to watch the band. He stared at them until the rest of us couldn't take it anymore! This kid loves music. They even gave him some beads!

Who knew Disneyland had a petting zoo?!? Jay thought the goats were laughing everytime they made noise. He followed them around laughing back at them. It was so cute!

MaKayla got her face painted and Jay colored, this gave us a little down time. There is no way Jay would let someone paint his face.

I took this last picture on the train ride back to our strollers. Look how tired Jay was. All in all it was a great day!

Santa Ana Zoo

One of the perks from boot camp is I met a new friend. Tamika has a little girl MaKayla who is only 1 month older than Jay. We got together and took them to the zoo. Jay was extra excited because he got to ride the train! (his new favorite obsession, trains)

They had a toy train that went around the celing in the train station. Jay stared at it for about 10 minutes!
When Jay heard the real train's whistle blow, he couldn't get there fast enough. He tried to jump through the ropes. He is so funny!

Jay and Tyler first met in Jay's first swim class, when he was 5 months old. They have been buddies ever since. We met up with Tyler and his mom Lisa in Seal Beach last week. Boot Camp

Boot Camp Here I Come. That's right, I am starting boot camp on Monday morning.
It is Mon-Fri. at 5:30 a.m. for an entire month. I am literally going to be working my butt off! They do not allow any room for cry babies. So I am going to suck it up and work off the rest of this baby weight.

This past weekend Arendall and I went camping with some friends in Big Sur. We had such a great time. Jay had some special time with Grammy, Papa, and Uncle Brad. In October of 2008, in Negril Jamaica, we bought this doll in hopes that we would one day have a little girl to give it to. We were at a craft market when we saw a lady making these. She told us that it was a traditional doll that the girls in Jamaica played with. I was cleaning out a box in the garage a few weeks ago and look what I found! Our doll that was purchased especially for Lily. She loves it. Everytime we put it in front of her she coos and gets excited. I am so glad we have a girl. She is so much fun!

Thank goodness, and it's about time. 5 months later I am back in business with my computer. I promise tomorrow I will add a couple new pictures of each baby. Jay turned 2 last month and Lily was 4 months on the 5Th. They are both growing so much. Jay is going to start a preschool two days a week in September. He will go 2 days a week for 2 hours a day. Grammy is watching Lily so I can go with him. We are so grateful to have her so close. Jay will also start swimming lessons again in September. (We took the summer off.) As for Lily she thinks she knows how to sit all by herself. I have to admit she is pretty close. She is a very strong and alert baby. She absolutely loves her big brother!!!! And he is starting to love her too!!!!! Work is going well for Arendall. I actually got a two day a week job myself. I am working with Megan at the ESPN Zone at Downtown Disney. It is a lot of fun. That's all that is new here. I promise to have those pictures up tomorrow.

A little princess has arrived! Lily was born Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 1:51 AM. She weighed in at 6 lbs, 12 oz. and is 19 3/4 inches long. Both mom & baby are doing great. Michelle sure makes giving birth look easy! After much anticipation, Jay will get to meet his little sister later today. We are all very excited to watch their love grow. We'll post pictures of the happy family as soon as possible. Until then, here are a few photos of newest addition to the Jones family; she is more beautiful than you can imagine!

Bitter Sweet

We are moving AGAIN!!! It seems like we pack up and start fresh every couple of years. This time, hopefully we can stay put for awhile. We are really sad to be moving away from the beach. The .4 mile walk to beautiful Huntington Beach has come to an end for us. We absolutely LOVE living here and it is going to be sad to leave. If only we had more space.
We hadn't even really started looking for places before this past weekend. In fact, originally we were going to spend one last summer here and just make due with the space issue. Lily will be in our room the first little while anyway. And then, Arendall found this house on Craig's List. ( I am addicted to C.L.- let me tell you, anything and everything can be found there).

We don't move in until the 15th of March, so this is the only picture we have.
This house space wise is a dream. 4 Bedrooms+ a loft, 2 fire places, den, living room, a yard for Jay, and an expanded kitchen. (whatever that means. All I know is it has tons of cupboards and counter space. :) ) We are so happy this place has a loft. Aka: Arendall's new office. Finally somewhere he can just get away for awhile and be able to focus on work. My favorite part is that there is an extra bedroom we are going to turn into a toy room. This means we get our living room back! I think we will like it there.

I am totally bummed not to be right by the beach, but really we are only moving 14 miles away. Not too bad. Hey at least there are palm trees in front of our new house!

Rainy Days Go Away

Since the weather has been rainy lately, Megan and I have felt so bad for the boys. They have been stuck inside for a few days. We decided to take them to Chick-Fil-A (spelling?) so they could play and us mommy's could gab. They always have so much fun together.

The only good thing about being inside is our new couches. The whole family is in love!!!! Jay marked his territory right away by putting his books and toys all over one part of the couch. Here is Jay enjoying his new sofa while watching Little Einstein's with Alannah.

Nothin' New Over Here

Hey every one. Sorry it has taken so long for me to update our blog. To tell you the truth, we haven't had much going on.

We are now almost 33 weeks pregnant. I can't even believe it.

Jay is doing great (minus teething). We are going to enroll him into My Gym this next month. We think it will help him (help mom) this last month of my pregnancy. I am getting tired and my energy level is down. This way he can get out all that energy!!! He is still swimming 2 times a week, and loving it.

Arendall is doing exceptionally well with Chipotle. He now has the most stores out of any area manager in the company. Jay and I are so thankful he works so hard so I can stay home and play.

2. Going through Lily's clothes today I realized I have 3 peices of clothing in Newborn size. I am excited to go shopping! It's been fun buying pink and purple!!!!

3. I have had "wash car" on my to-do list for 3 weeks now. I really have to go tomorrow.

4. I am excited, we are going to Vegas in August. I am going to make that my goal to get back into a bikini. 3 1/2 months.... maybe a one peice. :)

5. Jay has decided recently he wants to see if tantrums gets him what he wants. I swear he only does this in public!!!!!! Usually infront of Mom's at the playground. Why is that so much worse.. who knows. I hate thinking people are judging my parenting skills. He's on his way to being 2 that's for sure!

6. I took Jay with me to the grocery store today. Usually I go by myself first thing in the morning. It helps me get my head on straight. Anyway, we had a great time. He is getting to be a lot of fun. (minus those tantrums)

7. Jay also is practicing saying Lily. It comes out sounding more like eeillee. He is going to be a great big brother!

8. Speaking of him being a big brother, I am really getting nervous about having 2 kids. Not worried, just nervous.

9. We are officially 30 weeks pregnant. If she comes the same time Jay did, she will be here in 7 weeks. Can you believe how fast that went!

Just Imagine: taking 4 kids under the age of 3 and trying to get a good picture. The thought was nice. We could get a picture of all 4 grandkids while Camden was in town. This was the best shot. You could imagine the amount of tears flowing through that studio!!!!

My Top Ten for Today ( instead of Tuesday )

1. I just dropped my parents off at the airport. They are on their way to Hawaii and I am so, so jealous!!!

2. I just got word that my diabetes test came back, and everything is normal. (Thank Goodness) I have been worried about this for the last few weeks. My red blood cell count is low, but that happened when I was pregnant with Jay also. I need more Iron.

3. We decided to join my sister Melissa and her family this year in the March of Dimes Walk. We will be collecting donations soon. All the money raised goes to research and use for premature babies. What better reason to walk!

4. I am really excited Lily's arrival is coming so soon!
Although I have to admit, I felt much more prepared with Jay. I feel like I have so much to do and not enough time to do it.

5. I don't feel like getting into a bathing suit today for Jay's swim lessons. The things we do for our kids. :) He's worth it.

6. Does anyone else hate cleaning the bathroom as much as I do?????

8. I want to plan a Valentine's Day party for Jay's friends. I am totally stuck when it comes to ideas. Any suggestions for snacks or activities??? Remember they are between the ages of 12 months and 2 years.

9. It has finally stopped raining here in California, I have to make sure Jay gets to the park this afternoon.

10. Why are people in customer service SO RUDE!!!! I have been trying to order replacement wheels for my stroller for about a week now. No one from Combi will return my phone call. And the people I have talked to have been little help with big attitudes!!!! AAAHHH. ( Bad customer service is one of my biggest pet peeves! )

The Coolest Uncle Ever!!!!

On Saturday Uncle Brad spent the day with Jay. They had so much fun playing together. After Jay's nap we decided to go to the park. Jay thought it was so much fun chasing Brad around. Uncle Brad actually got Jay to climb through the tunnels. (He was always too scared before)

Jay's favorite thing at the park is the swings. He loved them even more sitting next to Uncle Brad!!!

Jay's First Hair Cut

Last week Jay turned 18 months old. Arendall and I have been going back and forth on wether or not to chop of those beautiful curls. My vote was NO. I said let's grow it out a little bit longer and see what it does. Obviously Arendall did not agree. He and Jay went to the grocery store. When they had been gone for two hours I started getting a little worried. When I called to check on them, Arendall told me he had a few errands to run for work. I didn't think anything of it. When they got home this was all that was left of my sweet baby's curls.

That's right. He got his first hair cut with out me!!! I cried. That same baby I let go to the grocery store with his daddy, came home looking like a little boy.
I have to thank him for at least making sure he got some pictures. He took them to this really cute place by our house called "Cool Cuts". It's designed just for children. They had elmo on t.v., and all the chairs were shaped like rocket ships, cars and things like that. He said Jay did great, he didn't cry at all. He was just a little annoyed that the lady cutting his hair kept getting in the way of the t.v. As long as he knows Lily's hair is off limits, we will be good to go!

Jay had his picture taken with his cousins on his mommy's side, sporting his new do. I will post them when we get them back.

Today a few friends decided to take all the kids to aquariam. It was so much fun! Jay loved seeing all his friends. Since we all have annual passes we are going to have to go more often!!! Here are some cute pictures, enjoy!

It's POTTY Time!!!

For Christmas from Mom-Mom, Jay got a big boy potty and the Elmo Potty Time video. We had him start watching the video as soon as possible just to get comfortable with the idea. I mean if Elmo does it, Jay would definitely want to right? So yesterday I took the potty out of the box and set it up in the living room. I put it aside thinking we would start the next day. Jay has swim class Mondays and Wednesdays, so we try to stay in a routine on those days especially.
When Daddy got home, much to both of surprise, Jay quietly climbed up on his potty chair in the living room and went potty. We could not believe it. Of course he had his diaper on, but still. He pooped while sitting on the potty. He knows! Wish us luck in hoping that potty training goes easily for us. If he could be out of diapers by the time Lily is born, I will be beside myself.

Christmas was so much fun this year. Jay still didn't know what to make of it all, but we had fun helping him open his gifts.

Here we are just waking up.

After breakfast with the Pollocks we headed over to Grandma Funchie's for presents from Santa.

Jay was much more interested in his Grandma Funchie's piano than opening presents.

After that we headed to Great Grandma Parrott's for lunch with Uncle John, Aunt Susan, Uncle Randy and Great Grandma, Grandma Funchie, and the Larsons. After more presents, we headed back to the Pollocks for dinner.

We sure missed our family in California, but we had a great day. Hope your holidays was as blessed as ours!!!!

We spent a few days over Christmas with Jay's Great Grandparents. This was a special trip because it was the first time they had met Jay. Marian, Eric and the girls met us up there for a little special time. It was great to finally have all three grandchildren together!!!!

Washington D.C. Dec. 19-22

We decided to kick Christmas off a little early this year, and took a trip to Washington D.C. I have never been. We had a great time. Jay loved having his Daddy to himself for a few days. Some highlights were, Jay climbing the steps to the Lincoln Memorial, the Holocaust Museum, and the Museum of Natural History. We will definitely need to go back, we didn't get to see that much.

My goal is to hit all 50 states before I die. Arendall planned the trip so we could spend the night in Delaware before driving to N.C. We stayed in a quiet little beach town. So we hit Maryland, Virginia, D.C., and Delaware all in one trip.

Jay's Visit with Santa

Play Date With All The Babies

On Thursday, Brittany drove to my mom's house with Cailey. It was so fun to have all the babies together!

Since Jay will not be home for Christmas, he and Cailey exchanged gifts early. He got an Elmo book and Elmo flashlight. All the kids LOVED the flashlight. (Jay won't put it down)

This year we went to visit Jay's Grandpa and GG for Thanksgiving in Tennessee. We took a red-eye flight there which was nice because Jay slept the whole way! He actually is a good traveler. That was the 3rd time he has flown cross-country and he has done great everytime. Thank goodness for Uncle Brad's portable DVD player, and the lovely person who is Elmo for a living! We love both of you!

If you notice in the middle, Jay had his own glass of sparkling cider for our toast. We all went around the table and said what we are thankful for. We all agreed, family was #1.

Update on Lily

Today we had our 18 week ultra-sound to check on Lily's growth. She is measuring in at 18.5 weeks. She weighs a 1/2 pound right now, and her heart is beating
150 beats per minute. Every thing looks great. Here are some new pictures of our princess!!!!

Her official due date is now April 20, 2008. I am guessing somewhere around the
14th she will be here!!!

Meeting Cousin Meg

Our second night in N.C. we drove from Raleigh to Charlotte. There was a Rat Dog show Arendall wanted to see. Marian, Arendall's sister, and our new neice Meg drove from Maggie Valley to spend the night with us. We were really glad they made the trip so we could meet our Meg. Marian and I hung out all night while Arendall was out dancing. Here are some cute pictures.

Last night was a lot of fun. We took Jay trick or treating for the very first time. He wasn't too sure what to make of it, but he looks cute in his costume!!!

You would think his Dad's crazy costume would have scared him. Jay actually thought Daddy looked funny.

Daddy also thought since Jay did all the treak or treating that he deserved a treat. (chocolate is not an everyday occurance at our house)

Arendall, Jay and I couldn't be happier with news of our new baby girl. We said we were done after 2 regardless of the sex of this baby. What a true blessing to be able to have one of each!

Since the fires, Jay has been pretty much quarantined to the house. Especially with his asthma we are worried with all the smoke. So today we decided to take Jay to Chuckie Cheese and just let him run around like crazy. He was not to sure as to what to make of it all. Here is a picture of him riding with the mouse. This was taken right before he started crying.

Jay's First Pony Ride

On Friday we went back to the pumpkin patch with Daddy. Jay went on his very first pony ride. With Daddy by his side, he had so much fun!!!!

But, his favorite part....... the yellow ball. Garrett has one of these balls. Everytime Jay is at his Auntie's house he looks for it. Low and behold we found one at the pumpkin patch. This kid plays with that ball all day long. What is it with the yellow ball.

On Friday, Jay and I went to the Pumpkin Patch with Megan and Taner. Jay wasn't too sure how much he liked the scarecrows every where. But, he loved the petting zoo. It was a short trip because we will be going back with Daddy next weekend. Here are a few pictures.

What a great book! You know if I am recommending it, it must be awesome. I normally don't read much of anything.

There's a Perfect Little Angel in Every Child teaches you how to disipline your child with love and patience. It also teaches you the difference in Disipline vs. Punishment.

What a great way of thinking. Every Mom, Grandma, Care Giver, or anyone that has a daily interaction with kids, should read this book. I loved it.

It is a short book. 9 chapters. I finished it in a day. If you have a one year old, you know how hard that can be!!!!!! It is easy ready. Anyone can get something from it.

The hardest 3 days....

So, now that Jay is a big boy and he is going to be a big brother, we have known for months it is time for him to start going to sleep on his own. Our normal routine used to include drinking his bottle while listening to lullabies, then snuggling with Mom or be rocked by Mom until he fell asleep. Monday we decided to do it. No more dragging our feet. It's time. My main fear is if I wait too long he will think it's the new baby's fault.

So we are in day two. The first day was not as bad as I thought. But today..... homeboy screamed for about 25 minutes. After laying him back down for the 3rd time he finally fell asleep, an hour later!!!!

My heart breaks because I know the only thing he wants is snuggles from his Mamma! 2 more days, and the hardest 3 will be over. I am counting minutes.

Baby Jones

We are officially 9 weeks pregnant, and we couldn't be happier. Jay doesn't quite understand what "yah big brother" means, but he knows it's exciting whatever it is. We had our third ultra-sound this past week and the baby looks great. Other than shingles and morning sickness Mom is adjusting well to the pregnancy.
